Command Sergeant Major Richard E. Epps Command Sergeant Major Richard E. Epps attended Basic Combat Training at Fort Jackson, SC and Advanced Individual Training at Redstone Arsenal, AL and trained as an Improved Hawk Missile Systems Repairer. In 1987, CSM Epps reclassified as a Military Police and attended Advanced Individual Training at Fort McClellan, AL. During his career, CSM Epps has worked in a variety of positions to include: Military Policeman, Team Leader, Squad Leader, Desk Sergeant, MP Station Commander, Training Evaluator, Drill Sergeant, Platoon Sergeant, Brigade Operations Sergeant, Company Operations Sergeant, First Sergeant, Battalion Operations Sergeant Major.

Command Sergeant Major Epps has served with the 166th Ordnance Co, Fort Bliss, TX; 188th MP Co, Taegu, Korea; 259th MP Co, White Sands Missile Range, NM; 293rd BSB Mannheim, Germany; 529th MP Co, Heidelberg, Germany; 701st MP Bn, Fort McClellan, AL; 2nd MP Co, Camp Casey, Korea; HHC 89th MP Bde, Fort Hood, TX; 410th MP Co, Fort Hood, TX, 212th MP Co, Kitzingen, Germany; 3rd MP Battalion, Fort Stewart, GA and S3 Sergeant Major for 385th MP Bn, Fort Stewart, GA.

Command Sergeant Major Epps’ military schools include the Basic Leadership Course, Primary Leadership Course, Advance Noncommissioned Officers Course, the Instructor Training Course, Drill Sergeants School, the First Sergeant’s Course, and the United States Army Sergeant’s Major Academy (Class 57). CSM Epps holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Liberal Arts from Excelsior University.

Command Sergeant Major Epps’ awards include the Bronze Star Medal, Meritorious Service Medal (3 OLC), the Army Commendation Medal (5 OLC), the Kosovo Campaign Ribbon, the Afghanistan Campaign Ribbon, NCO Professional Development Ribbon, the National Defense Service Medal and the Overseas Service Ribbon (Numeral 4),Global War on Terrorism, and the Korean National Defense Medal. CSM Epps is also a proud member of the prestigious Sergeant Morales and Sergeant Audie Murphy clubs.

Command Sergeant Major Epps is currently assigned to the 793D Military Police Battalion, and is married and has one child.
