The
Family Advocacy Program (FAP) offers a variety of services designed to help individuals
and families gain life skills to lead a fulfilling life and be able to cope during times
of stress. Programs include:
Parenting Classes - focus on child development, positive discipline, behavior management, communication, nutrition, child safety and more for all ages. Pooh’s & Piglets Playgroup - Meet other parents and enjoy a fun time with your child or children from infants up to school age. Monday and Friday mornings 9:30-11:30 am the Family Zone, Dyea St. Aqua Play - Introduce your child (6 months up to school age) to water play and preparation for swimming. Tuesday & Wednesdays from 10-11:30 am at Buckner Gym Pool. Tigger Time - Meets Thursdays from 11:30 am - 12:30 pm in the Family Zone. Tigger time focuses on fine motor skill activities such as crafts and organized games, with parents participating one-on-one with their children. Kanga Time - Meets Tuesday afternoons from 3:30-5 pm in the Family Zone. Meet other parents and enjoy a fun time with your child or children. Roo's Playgroup - Meets Saturday 10 am - noon in the Family Zone. For more information call 384-7506. School Age Parent Support ProgramEducational support for parents of children ages 5 -12 years old. Parenting Challenges Workshops - focus on child development, positive discipline, behavior management, communication, nutrition, child safety and more for all ages. Mondays 11:30 am - 1 pm in the Family Zone. Kidz Gone Wild- Meet other parents and enjoy a fun time with your child or children of all ages. Fridays 3:30-5 pm at Elmendorf AFB Arctic Oasis. Aqua Games - Fun water games for children and their parents. First Friday of every months 7:30 - 9:30 pm at Buckner Gym Pool. PASS - Parent and Student Study Group - Homework
study group in which all parents will come together and help their children
with homework. Room will be broken into small groups determined by school
subject. Parents will either go with their child or go to the group in which
they feel more comfortable with the subject and help students at that table.
Children can move from subject group to subject group as needed. Every
Tuesday and Thursday, 3:30-5 pm in the Family Zone.
